Of the sights that might stop an automotive blogger cold on Eighth Avenue - between 38th and 39th Streets on the East side of the avenue, to be precise - a matte-green Hyundai Elantra GT would figure prominently.
The car is one of three specially customized Hyundai vehicles that is scheduled to be displayed at the 2012 Re:Mix Lab, a touring multimedia show started by the automaker last year in New York. It will be joined by a Genesis and a Veloster.
According to the brand's Facebook page, the Elantra GT sits on gold Vossen wheels and bears refinishing work from a BASF shop in Southfield, Mich.
We do wonder, however, what Lapo Elkann, the brand-promotion manager for Fiat, would say about t he paint scheme of his Fiat 500 being borrowed so liberally, never mind the idea of using an unlikely car for mounting a Thule luggage box - or in the case of Mr. Elkann, a pair of mattresses.
